What this site collects about you
As built today, nothing. What Breaks Next is a statically-generated site with no accounts, no server-side request logging beyond whatever your hosting provider retains by default, no analytics, and no advertising or affiliate tracking. The mileage input and "most reported" / "most serious" sort toggle on a vehicle page run entirely in your browser and are never sent anywhere.
Cookies and local storage
This site does not set cookies and does not use browser storage (localStorage/sessionStorage) to remember anything about you.
Data this site publishes about other people
Complaint text quoted on vehicle pages comes from NHTSA's public Office of Defects Investigation database. NHTSA redacts complainant identity before publishing, but its own screening sometimes leaves third-party business contact information (a dealership's phone number or address mentioned in a narrative) in the text. Every quote published on this site is passed through an additional redaction pass (phone numbers, emails, VIN-shaped tokens, plate-shaped tokens, street addresses) before publication - see the methodology page for the measured rate at which this pass actually changes something. If you believe a quote on this site still contains information that shouldn't be public, contact us (below) and it will be reviewed.

This site is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect information from anyone, of any age - see above.
Changes
If this site adds advertising, affiliate links, or analytics in the future, this page will be updated first to describe exactly what that introduces before it ships - not after.
